MEET CLAIRE
Q: What hair artist or ‘thing’ inspires you in the hair industry?
A: My mumma will always be the most inspirational person to cross my path but honestly the industry as a whole has changed so much, hairdressers no longer compete but just are so grateful for each other, so I’m inspired daily. Our team inspires me every day just watching them learn and evolve, our team who helped build Āme Studio are just as passionate about encouraging and inspiring the juniors and just building them up along their journey.
Q: What is the most exciting part of your role at Ame Studio?
A: Growing with our guest after all these years, days spent laughing and making everyone see just how beautiful it is to experience what we do at Āme studio. Most importantly watching my girls grow into passionate intentional artist.
Q: What do you love doing/ ‘specialize’ in at work?
A: I absolutely adore doing pixies, creating lift or width and framing to haircut structures and freehand all my curly guest so we cut specific to their curl not just what the rule book says they should have. I truly believe we are so beautiful with what we have been blessed with so our colour work is so soft, seamless and intentional.
My greatest focus as I continue to grow is educating our guest on how they can achieve their dream hair at home, we ideally only see a guest 20% of the time so that other 80% I want to ensure them that they have all the right information to nurture their hair at home. We invest so much time and money into evolving with the current science and skills in the industry and take pride in sharing all our knowledge on for our guest to then take with them.
Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: Trust what you believe in and if you have a dream don’t wait for it to come to you and take every step it takes to make it all unfold.
Q: What do you like to do outside of work?
A: I love to be surrounded with beautiful kind people, my husband and three little boys are what I miss dearly throughout the week, so I love getting to spend some quality time with them, and our family & friends fill my soul like nothing else.
Also love a girl’s weekend away soaking it up in a day spa somewhere phenomenal.
Q: What is your favourite thing about working at Ame Studio?
A: Spending each and every day laughing away watching the girls all realise just how talented they are and seeing how important it is to them that our guest feel a sense of belonging when they are with us.

A: Apple Martini
Q: When you were younger, what did you think you wanted to do for work as an adult?
A. I’ve always wanted to be a hairdresser ever since I was a little girl.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do at work?
A. I love blondes, whether it’s a bright blonde or a soft lived in blonde I love it. I also love doing the social media for Ame and getting to create content of our work.
Q: What does your money get spent on?
A. My money gets spent on drinks on the weekends and buying new work clothes all the time from molly vie
Q: Your go to binge weekend?
A. I love gossip girl; I’ve watched it so many times.
Q: What makes you love being a part of Ame Studio?
A: I love getting to make my guests feel beautiful and I love that work isn’t a competition to be the best, we all help and support each other.
